About La Prudencia
Masters of Spanish Charcuterie Since 1910
For over a century, the Benito family has been producing some of Spain’s most respected, premium hams. Founded by Prudencio Benito in 1910, La Prudencia remains entirely family-run, fiercely guarding traditional, artisanal methods that have disappeared from modern factory production.
What sets La Prudencia apart is time, location, and patience. Their curing cellars sit high in the mountains of Segovia—more than 1,200 meters above sea level. Rather than using automated, climate-controlled factories, their hams are cured naturally, exposed to the elements and crisp mountain air of the changing Spanish seasons. Combined with their strict selection of premium, grain-fed Duroc and Iberian pigs, this slow, natural process yields a ham that is exceptionally tender, beautifully marbled, and uniquely sweet.
